The British and Irish Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (BIAPWS) is a non-profit organisation that focuses on industrial applications in water chemistry and treatment in the energy sector and related industries.

 

We are an independent representative body for Power Plant Chemistry in the UK and Ireland, bringing together electricity generators (fossil, biomass, nuclear and EfW), steam generators and users, and providers of water treatment, analytical equipment and chemistry services.

As a forum for information and knowledge exchange, we hold regular meetings and webinars, and our annual BIAPWS Symposium. We work with regulators, standards organisations and research institutions to promote best practice to improve plant chemistry, water treatment and environmental management.
